Growing up can be hard, and that includes growing up in your faith.  The writer of Hebrews wanted to share deeper truths about Christ but his listeners could not understand because they had stop growing in faith.  As babies transition from drinking milk to eating solid food, so believers should move on from the elementary truths of scripture to the deeper things of God.  But if we stop listening and trying to learn, we might as well leave the restaurant and go back to the milk.
