Burn The Bridge

The phrase “burning bridges” is typically used in reference to relationships, and has been used historically in the context of military campaigns. In both instances, we use it to communicate that what was behind us cannot be revisited. While it can often seem divisive, when we burn bridges in our lives we do so to make a clean break with our past. In 1 Kings 19, we see Elisha burning the bridge to the life he knew before God called him using Elisha. In this message, we learn what God often requires of us to be the people he is calling us to be.
