Easter 2018: Close The Distance

Peter, the first disciple called by Jesus, has moments of both extraordinary faith and great doubt. And sometimes, we look on those times of difficulty and give Peter a hard time for his failures. One of his strongest moments, that we often overlook, is how he ran to the empty tomb after hearing the women’s testimony of the risen Saviour – after denying he knew Jesus. Despite his shame, Peter ran to the Saviour. In this teaching from Luke 24, we learn, through Peter’s example, how we’re called to leave behind lesser things and close the distance between us & the Rabbi and step into our calling.
